About the Artist
For over 50 years, Sacramento-based multi-media artist Karen Roughton has produced prints, drawings, mixed media and paintings. Earning a B.S. in Art Education from Southern Connecticut State University and an M.A. in Art from California State University, Sacramento, Karen spent decades balancing a personal studio practice with teaching at premier Northern California institutions like American River College, UC Davis, and as a guest faculty at San Francisco Art Institute. Widely exhibited across California, her award-winning art has been showcased at the California State Fair and the Crocker-Kingsley exhibition, along with group and solo exhibitions, and it is held in numerous private collections. Today, she remains active in the regional arts community as an instructor and Crocker Art Museum docent, inviting both seasoned and new collectors to bring a piece of this lifelong legacy into their private spaces.
